Sights and sounds of our nation’s capital

John and family in front of the Washington Monument

Today began with a bit of fun – a guided tour of Washington, DC. We joined John and MaryEllen and their families as they took in the attractions.

First stop: the Korean War Veterans Memorial, followed by the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and the Lincoln Memorial. We have a lot of great photos – visit our Flickr feed to view them.

Our final stop for the morning was the Museum of Natural History, where we saw the Hope Diamond and all kinds of great exhibits.
The families and our clinicians are now meeting to discuss what will happen tomorrow during their meetings on Capitol Hill, and the role they will play as citizen lobbyists.

Visit us again later this afternoon to hear from them first-hand.

  1. Nice blog…keep us posted of your efforts and contacts. Washington gets easily distracted these days, and they must not forget about your important work at the hospital for the kids.
